100% of profit funds school fees for girls in Uganda
Beyond Boundaries

Where your money goes

The honest version, with the numbers behind it.

Plenty of brands mention a good cause somewhere near the checkout and leave it at that. Since the cause is the entire reason Beyond Boundaries exists, it is worth setting out exactly what happens to your money.

The short version

You buy a bag of coffee. We pay for the beans, the packaging, the postage and the card processing. 100% of what is left goes to 13 Not Out as a donation, and is spent on keeping girls in school in Uganda.

What it costs to keep a girl in school

Around £30 a month covers school fees for one girl. That is the typical figure and it moves either way depending on the school and the year she is in.

Fees are the only part that has a price list. The charity also covers the things that quietly decide whether a girl can actually attend: school shoes, supplies, kit and period packs, sent out as they are needed.

Who is funded today

7 girls are being funded right now in Kumi, Lugazi and Gulu. It is a small number and we would rather quote it accurately than round it up. Every additional order moves it.

We do not name the girls or show their faces here. The charity changes names in its own materials to protect anonymity, and a shop is not the place to make individual children identifiable.

How the money moves

  1. You place an order and pay by card.
  2. We cover the cost of goods, packaging, postage and payment fees.
  3. The remaining profit is donated to 13 Not Out, registered charity 1216500.
  4. The charity works through local cricket academies in Uganda, currently Keere Cricket Academy, Angels Academy and Pi Anyim Academy, who know the girls and their families.

Who checks this

13 Not Out is a registered UK charity, number 1216500. That means its accounts are filed with the Charity Commission and anyone can look them up.

Other ways to help

Buying coffee is not the only route, and for some people it is not the best one. The charity takes direct donations and monthly standing orders, and you can add a period pack to any order at the basket, which sends three reusable pads and a bar of soap to a girl in Uganda rather than anything to you. Full details are on the 13 Not Out website.
